Windows 7 search - no email showing up - Outlook 2010 RTM
When we hit win key + S and search for words that we know are in email messages in Outlook, no email is listed. The same search inside of Outlook 2010 works fine. We have run the troubleshooter and no issues were found. Any ideas?

Please open Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Indexing Options. Check if Outlook is included.Arthur Xie - MSFT

We have checked this. We've rebuilt the index. We've dropped clean images with Windows 7 x86 and x64 and no add-ins with Office 2010 x86. If you search for “searches” and then click searches, you will see that there is a Microsoft Outlook one. After clicking on it, you can use the top right search box and it will look in your email.

Hi Beaum, Have you search using win + f or clicking the Start button and typing email in the search box? What is the result?

Hi Beaum, Have you search using win + f or clicking the Start button and typing email in the search box? What is the result? We were able to resolve the issue by changing the following registry key: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced Set Start_SearchComm = 1
