Windows 7 resuming from hibernation problems
this has happened a few times now. after resuming windows 7 RC from hibernation (it hibernates itself overnight) the screen has 'resuming windows' then goes black. ive found pressing the power button to put it to sleep, then getting it out of sleep works sometimes but i was wondering if theres a way to stop this from happening? Cheers, Nipqer

Hi Nipqer, The root cause can be the display driver. I suggest that you download and install the latest driver. If the issue still occurs, try to find some clues in Event Log. Please check the System log in Event Viewer, and try to find what happens after the computer enters Sleep Mode and resume from Sleep Mode.Arthur Xie - MSFT

When it resumes it wants to change the graphicsto Basic Mode.I have an I7 system with a Gigabyte 9600GT graphics card using latest Vista drivers. All other graphic programs seem to run okayWhen running Vista on the same PC, hibernation is not a problem and recovers correctly

Hi,I thinkI experience just the same problem and it was not present in Beta while using THE SAME drivers. That's why RC is a small step backwards for me. Moreover AMD/ATI does no longer support integrated graphics device on my laptop, nor the manufacturer of the laptop does. However, flawless behaviour of Beta makes me think that there something wrong with RC...

I have issues when it comes back from hibernation. In my case, it logs back on, but my mouse doesn't respond. I actually have to unplug the usb and replug it in for it to detect the mouse. Anyone else have this problem? It is a Microsoft mouse. Also, it only seems to happen if it has just gone into hibernation. If I leave it for an hour or so, it works perfectly.

Hello. I realize that Microsoft wants (dare I say, needs) to make Windows 7 available to the public, and I agree. However, there is a problem with Windows 7 after hibernation. Windows 7 is somewhat slower in response time and hibernated video causes the system to freeze (beyond the help of control-alt-delete). If you have a series of tests that can be performed to provide you with detailed information, please let me know. ------------------------------------------------------------- PC - Dell XPS 1530 CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 @ 2.10GHz 2.10GHz Ram - 3.00 GB Video - NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT Audio - SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio Imaging - Laptop Integrated Webcam Bluetooth - Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR Input - Dell Touchpad (no Pen or Tablet Input) Wireless - Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN -------------------------------------------------------------
