Windows 7 renames network share folder
Windows 7 machine on XP network causes shared network folder to be renamed "Documents". Server 2003 with a majority XP workstations. We've added a few Windows 7 machines. Also had to adjust the mandatory profiles by creating copies and renaming them profilename.v2 (windows 7 needs the v2). Once a user logs on to the domain using the Win7 machine and accessing their "My Documents" folder (which is actually their username;\\server1\directory\username), it removes the username from the folder and changes it to read "documents". As the logged in user, they really don't see any difference, however, as the Administrator, I now see instead of each folder named according to the user they all begin to be labeled "Documents". I have to go to Folder Properties - Security to be able to identify whose folder it actually is. how can I get Windows 7 to stop doing this?

Hi, Please kindly refer to the following article: When you redirect the Documents folder on a Windows Vista-based or Windows 7-based computer to a network share, the folder name unexpectedly changes back to Documents Hope it helps.
