Hi, It appears that you meet two issues: 1. Windows and third-party software have not Internet access to update. 2. When you try to access a share hosted by the network neighborhood, the network neighborhood freezes. Please understand that in order to avoid possible confusion and make our discussion clear, it is highly recommended that we work on the issues one by one. Therefore, I would like to suggest that we focus on the Internet connection issue first. At this time, please try the following to check the Internet connection issue: 1. If you run some other applications which need Internet connection, such as using Internet Explorer to visit some websites, will the Internet connection fail? 2. If there is just one specific third-party software could not access Internet to update, please also check if you can access its website or update server. Please also let us know what it is. 3. If you have proxy settings on this computer or your network, please disable the proxy and see how it works. 4. Boot the system to clean boot and check the issue: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 If the issue persists, please also let us know the error you received when you run Windows Update.
