Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 7 will be available to purchase on October 22nd "We feel confident that we will deliver Windows 7 with our partners on Oct. 22," said Bill VeghteSay what?I was looking for a quote "ex cathedra" and that's as close as I got. I got to wondering what oct 22 is. Someone's birthday? A wall street milestone?

So stick with XP. No one cares what you do, and no one is forcing you to buy anything.Personally, I couldn't wait to dump XP. Vista performs so much better with 8 GB of RAM than XP ever could.

Nope, that would be you. XP does not know how touse2 GB of RAM, let alone 8. Give XP 8 GB of RAM and 6.5 GB of it will be sitting unused. Meanwhile, XP grinds the disk every time you click something. THAT'S real cherry. No thanks, I'll take Vista and 7's memory management any day.

There will not be 1 billion Windows 7's sold, upgrades or other wise. I'll give Windows 7 about the same as Vista but slightly more as far as how many will be hocked out.Just like Microsoft snow-jobbedenough people out of XP and into Vista but it won't work a second time with Windows 7.And, just like Vista, Windows 7 will be another black-eye for Microsoft. There is no way Microsoft could have made an actual profit with Vista. I doubt they broke even with all of the money they spent on developing it only to have it turn out to be a complete flop. If anything Windows 7 might help them break even, since Windows 7 is more like a Service Pack for Vista anyways. Microsoft is just trying to sell it as a completely different operating system, but with a lot more toys. GA P35 DQ6 Mb, Intel Wolfdale 8600 3.33Ghz C2D CPU., 4x2Gb Mushkin DDR2 1066 PC2 8500 Ascents Memory Mods., PNY-nVidia GE Force 8800 GTS (640MB), 4-Western Digital Caviar SATA(2) HDD's (internal), 1 EIDE-USB External; Hauppauge PVR 1600 TV tuner, Dual Monitor: (1) Standard up top, (1) WideScreen below; Altec Lansing Speakers. Here Kitty, Kitty...that's my Kitty Kat, he's a Kat, because he is kat...kat.
