when is windows 7 out on the market?and how much will it cost

It still isn't out of beta yet and a release date hasn't been mentioned let alone a price. After my four year old Sony laptopwent through hundreds of service packs and updates, I lost my original installation disk. It seemed to be so out-of-date that it was of little relevance anyway. Now, as I understand it, there will a time between 1 August 2009 when Windows 7 beta ceases to function and early 2010 when the retail version becomes available. Well, I know we were warned about the cut off date, but can we beg from Microsoft to give some continuity for those of us who have wiped our computers, to help them test their software.

The release candidate is slated to be good through July of 2010. Enjoy it while you can.
