Windows 7 odd problem
Windows 7 client with all updates installed with "documents" redirected to a Server 2003 storage server with all updates installed and Server 2008 DC's overseeing the domain and offline files disabled via group policy on all desktop clients... I Will call this client "client A" Here is my problem... "User A" logs onto "client A" and modifies "file A" in his documents area, it saves with no error message and if he reopens "file A" on "client A" all is good with the world... however if "user A" logs onto "Client B" (Also windows 7) the file is the pre-modified version without the changes... if "user A" logs onto any client on the domain it's the pre-modified version without the changes and if i check the time\date stamp of the file on the server it doesn't match the file that is showing on "client A" I'm at a bit of a loss where to start here, if it was a permissions error it would show when he tried to save the file, but no error is shown... has anyone seen this before and can point me in the right direction??

What time do you mean - crreated, modified or accessed? And what is the difference. IMHO Audit would revela the origin of any change. Regards Milos

Hi Milos and thanks for your reply but i'm not sure how an audit would show me why the file is only being saved locally... could you expand your response for me?

Hi! I've never seen this happen before, so my guess is that there is something wrong with the sync that is performed when the user logs of the computer. is this problem issolated to just one user, or does it affect all the users in your environment? BR Andreas
