Windows 7 occassionally cannot find desktop settings, start bar is "themeless" and desktop icons are missing
I upgraded my computer from Vista to Windows 7 RC 32-bit. About every other time I boot the computer now, I get an error message at log-in saying that C:\Users\[My Name]\Desktop refers to a location that doesn't exist. When this happens, the desktop background is blank, there are only default desktop icons (such as Computer and Recycle Bin), and the Start Bar is themeless, similar to classic mode, gray and stripped of its Aero look with none of my pinned icons. Nine times out of ten, all i have to do is restart the computer once, and everything is back to normal. Nevertheless, it's happened for a week now. Any ideas?

Check for this problem using a new user account with the Administrator rights (Control panel -> User accounts -> Manage another account -> Create a new account).Do you recieve the error message in this case? If no - probably your current user profile is damaged. If yes - use the clean bootand testthe problem.Hope this helps. My English is not very well.
