Windows 7 not resuming correctly
So I've been running Windows 7 for a couple of months, and every once in a while, after hibernation, Windows wont resume, only after waiting an absurd amount of time (like 30-90 minutes) will windows resume. I'm not quite sure what is causing this, and I couldnt find any topics on this. I currently have 4 O.S.s on my computer, distributed over 1.54 terabytes on three hard drives, including the default Vista Home Premium SP1, Ubuntu 8.1, Windows 7 R.C., and XP Home edition SP3. I'm running a modified Compaq Presario SR5233WM, with a Lancaster 8 mobo, Pentium D 915, HIS ATI Radeon HD 2600PRO 512 MB IceQ Turbo, 2GB DDR2 RAM @667 MHz. I'm not quite sure what is causing this, because windows resumes fine from sleep, and starts up fine, shuts down fine, etc. Any ideas?Star Trek Lover

Hi There are several well documented bugs in the Windows 7 RC build. The bug appears when the system resumes from Sleep or Hibernation or will not enter the suspend state. These bugshave only beenseen on specific systems that havecombinations of certain hardware/software installed. One thing that we have recently seen is that some users have updated their BIOS and this had a positive effect on helping to resolve the problem. The only way we have to deal with these issues in the RC buildis to try and avoid using the Sleep/Hibernate functions as much as possible. If you experience this bug and still need to use the Sleep or Hibernate functions be aware that you could possibly lose any unsaved information in applications.sleep - Microsoft TechNet Forums SearchThe latest information we have is that these issues are fixed in the RTM build. Hope this helps.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Ronnie Vernon MVP
