Windows 7 not booting after update
Appologies if this is in the wrong area, I have Windows 7 installed on my laptop that i use for c# development and after an update last friday it doesn't appear to be booting into windows. The update i installed was to remove the 32GB limit from SD cards. I have tried booting into safe mode and i get no joy there either. I have tried the startup recovery option that i am presented with and now it appears to have just stopped with a mouse cursor and the background of login screen. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated as i am dead in the water at the moment. Regards, DPERROTT

Hi, Thanks for the help, i tried to boot into recovery using f8 and the system just seems to hang, i managed to get a BSOD with Unmountable Boot Volume. I tried booting from the windows install dvd and that also hangs. i have since booted the machine with a linux livecd and the filesystem looks to be intact. any suggestions as to how i can proceed? Hi, Problem is now resolved it seems, i booted the machine using a live cd (Windows DVD wouldn't work at all) and managed to perform chkdsk a few times, it found some errors and repaired them. this allowed me to boot into recovery, which said it couldn't fix the problem automatically and on rebooting the machine a third time it booted into win7 successfully. am going to keep an eye on it for a bit and get all my data backed up Thanks for all your help DPERROTT
