Windows 7 network password
I have a network at home. 3 desktops and 2 laptops all running windows 7. I use a sync program called Memeo and it worked fine. I have done something or something has happened and now windows asks me for a password before I can access any files on any of the other macnines. Is here a way to cancell this password? I never set up any passwords except for the homegroup password. I have changed the homegroup password and made sure it is the same in all the computers, that evidently was not the answer bcause the problem continues. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi, Try and Click Start\Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings. The advanced sharing settings are in the left pane. Change password protected sharing and ok.

Actually that was the first thing I tried. No luck. I also went to every computer and changed the homegroup password to make sure they are all the same but the message is "network password" and I have not set a network password on any of the computers. I'm stumped!Frank

Click Start=>Help and support and search "create homegroup" and then "add computers to a homegroup" to confirm that it is configured properly. Frankly, I turn homegroup off and configure sharing. Check the Memeo forums for any similar problem. I noticed the product is XP and Vista with claims of Windows 7 compatibility. http://support.memeo.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=15014

Hi, Check option "Allow Windows to manage homegroup connections (recommended)" under the HomeGroup connections in Advanced shaing settings. If the issue still persists, you may create a new homegroup, then make these computers to join in it.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
