Windows 7 network communication with xpmode virtual machine
I have installed the xpmode on my windows 7 (professional) machine, and am using it to run sql server 2008 enterprise 180 day trial. I am trying to write code to communicate with the db server, but am unable to connect. I keep receiving the error "network path not found". Also, I am unable to browse the vm through windows explorer, and receive the same error. How must I configure the virtual machine to be able to communicate with it as I would a normal pc on my home network. Thank you very much in advance for all who care to offer guidance!

Hi, Thanks for the post! Did you install any firewall? Please turn off any firewalls and then connect. Then, please try to use \\IP to connect it. Please feel free to give me any update. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

Sorry for the delay. No active firewalls, and connecting //ip generates the same message as attempting to connect through explorer. Once again, vm can see the host, but it seems to be one way. Thanks again.
