Windows Firewall service, Base Filtering Service, and possibly some others(?) are missing from the list of services! I have found that problem when I followed some advice of how to resolve the original problem: Cannot turn on/off firewall, and getting error message 0x80070424.

I was using an advice from a different article. I just went to the article you recommended, followed the instructions. All went well and I managed to turn on the firewall. Thanks a million! Dan
