Windows 7 mapped drives will not reconnect to server 2003
We currently have three PC's in our office running Windows 7 and at present 2 of these are unable to reconnect to mapped drives which point to server 2003. My PC is one of these and previously to get these to reconnect I have tried performing a system restore, but this is only a temporary solution as a couple of days pass and I get the same problem, and I have finally run out of restore points that work. Although I cannot access other PC's on the network, all users are able to access my shared folders. Outlook and my internet connection are also working. How we can get our network drives to connect and reconnect everytime that we log in?

Hi, According to your description, you meet two issues: 1. You could not reconnect to the mapped drives when you log on. 2. You are not able to access the shared folders on the network. If I misunderstand your words, please do not hesitate to let me know. I would like to confirm the following details: 1. What is the error message when you failed to access the shared folders? 2. Have you selected option “Reconnect at logon”? 3. What is the result in Safe Mode with networking? Hi Alex, Hi Alex, you are quite correct, those are the issues I was having. As soon as I logged in I would get the balloon "Unable to reconnect network drives", but we seem to have rectified this now. My colleague logged in under his user on my PC and flushed the DNS, and when I logged back in my network drives were available. Also, I can now see all PC's and the network ad connect to their shared folders. Many thanks for your time

To solve this in Start, run cmd, from the command prompt type "ipconfig /flushDNS" and then restart the PC.
