Windows 7 machine unable to access specific share drive
Windows 7 Computer unable to access specific share drive. I have removed/added computer to the domain and the computer is still unable to view the specific folder on the server (tried with domain admin and the domain user account). I am able to view these same files using the same credentials from other machines. Originally the user was logging in using the local account and, I am assuming, had stored thier credentials using the default credential manager. I checked using run > control userpasswords2 , but on this profile (which is a new profile) there are no stored passwords. To sum it up, this is not a network permissions issue but instead a permissions issue on the machine itself. Network Discovery, File and Printer Sharing, and Public Folder Sharing are all set to “on” and Password Protected Sharing is set to “off”. Any help/direction is appreciated

Hi tricro, I recommend you check what are the rights does that user has on the shared folder. Please logon as an administrator. 1. Right-click the shared folder, choose Properties - Security Tab - Advanced 2. Click Effective Permissions, click Select, input the user account, then Click OK. 3. Check what are the effective permissions that user has. 4. If the user doesn't have enough permission, Click the Permissions Tab - Changes Permissions. 5. Click Add, input the user name, click OK 6. Select the proper permissions for the user, then click OK. Miya, I am able to view the folder using this user when I log into another computer attached to the domain. I do not think it is a permissions issue dealing with AD, but a permissions/configuration issue with the machine itself. However, I do not know what would be preventing the machine from accessing the folder as there are no permissions set regaurding machine names on the Domain. Is it possible that the machine has credential stored somewhere in the registry that would be causing this to happen?
