Windows 7 login script and home folder connection
I have a Windows 2003 R2 domain. I'm upgrading workstations to Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit. When I do the upgrades, they are a complete re-install. I map the home drive via Home Folder Connect in the domain account profile. I also run an old school login script "logon.bat" to map a a single network drive with a "net use" command. On some of the Windows 7 boxes, the home folder connect and the login script run just fine, just as they did with XP. But some of the installs won't map the drives at all. I've spent hours looking for solutions on the Internet and comparing the settings between a computer that works and a computer that doesn't. Any help/suggestions would be apprecaited.

Is UAC enabled? If so and if the users whos drives are being mapped are local admin, you could be running into a split token issue. The drives may actually be mapping but they just dont show up in explorer.exe. Try opening an elevated command prompt and changing into the mapped drive letter. If this works, or even if it doesnt, you might want to take a look at the following article. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee844140(WS.10).aspx -Nagorg

You may temporary disable firewall on the server and a problematic Windows 7 computer and check the result. If the issue still occurs, please check if the problematic computers are domain members when logging on. If they do not join the domain properly, you may need to remove the computer objects from AD and re-join them to domain.Arthur Xie - MSFT

Thanks for the suggestions. I did alrady try removing the computer from the AD and re-adding it, but that didn't help. I'll look into the UAC thing next. Thanks again, -Mike
