Hi, I own a workgroup of 9 PCs connected in a network all running windows 7 SP1. I recently wanted to give all the users onky standard user type and activate the administrator account so that I can implement security policies through secpol.msc. Once I activated the administrative account via cmd, net user administrator /active:yes command I then changed the account lockout threshold to 3 invalid logon attempts and qccount lockout duration to 15 min, and when i try to log on to the standard user account it says that the account is lockedout. So through the administrative user I open lusrmgr.msc and go to the user that is lockedout and untick the Account is locked out click ok and nothing happens, the account is still lockedout. Even if I open the standard user again and untick Account is lockedout, click Ok and then immediatl open the user again it stil stays account is lockedout ticked. So obviously this is some bug with windows because i was able to imolement this to the other 8 computrs and this is the only one that gives me trouble. I should also mentioned that I tried contacting Microsoft support in my country and the guys there had no idea what could the problem be and even sugested that I should do system restore which in my opinion is hillarious, as they clearly have no idea what was I talking. Hi, Regarding this issue, it seems there is an application that always tries to log on with this user account. I suggest you create a new user account and check the result. Maybe we could find something helpful in Event Log.
