Windows 7 limited workgroup connections
With Windows XP, there is a limit of 10 simultaneous connections in the workgroup (as opposed to domain) environment (see MS article below). What is the number of simultaneous connections allow in a workgroup network environment with Windows 7? For Windows XP Professional-based computers, the maximum number of concurrent network connections that are allowed is 10. This limit includes all transfer and all resource share protocols. For Windows XP Home Edition-based computers, the maximum number of concurrent network connections that are allowed is 5. This limit is the number of sessions that can be hosted at the same time from other computers. Therefore, we cannot use the administrative tool usage to connect to the system from a remote computer. Thank you in advance for your answers. Sincerely,Jason

I've checked the licence policy values of the Ultimate and it allows 20 SMB connections. Why Edition do you want to use?"A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

Hi,You can type the command "Net Config Server" in Command Console and the "Maximum Logged On Users" will be listed. Usually, the maximum users are 20.Thanks,Novak

Is there any reason why the Maximum Logged On Users would remain 10 after an in-place upgrade from Vista to Windows 7? That is what I am struggling with: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/w7itpronetworking/thread/29c30086-577e-4395-9cc1-0295a26b99d3 Thanks. -Chris
