Windows 7 libraries and folder redirection
We are using Folder Redirect, and not Roaming Profiles to redirect our user's data to a network share. We are redirecting the Contacts, Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Favorites, Links, Saved Games, and Searches. The Music, Pictures, and Videos
folders are set to follow the documents folder.
We are having issues where users are losing personal files because they sometimes save their documents to their local profile on the computer. We enabled the "Remove user folder link from Start Menu" in group policy so that users could not click that
to get to the local profile.
What happens though is that if a user opens Windows Explorer, such as "Computer", they can click on the "Favorites" links on the left-hand side. There is a link back to the Desktop that the user can click on in the Favorites. If they click on
this "Desktop", the users are shown their redirected desktop folder, however there is also an additional icon in this folder which takes them to the local profile. It is a system folder and has their Profile Name.
How can I prevent this icon from showing up when users click on the Desktop, or any other link in the "Favorites" bar in Windows Explorer? Thank you!

Hi,
Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet forums.
You can disable the left panel from the following group policy:
User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Explorer
Enable the Policy “Remove Windows Explorer’s default context menu”
