Windows 7 language Packs
I have been using Windows 7 RC x64 for about a week now and i have ran into a few issues and at this point only a few bother me, problems with device drivers and this one issue with Windows update not being able to receive certian updates. the updates that i am referring to are the Windows 7 Language packs. I remember when they were first released with the Windows 7 test updates. for some odd reason after i installed all of the Windows 7 test updates, the language packs disapeared. Can someone please help me so that i can get the language packs back in Windows update so that i can install them on my PC.

Hi StevenI did install one of the Language Pack updates, butselected to hidethe other 3 and they are still there. Are you sure the updates were not just hidden? Open Windows Update and select Restore Hidden Updates. Do they show up there? If not, perform the following.Open Control Panel/Region and language.Select the Keyboards and Languages Tab.In the Display Language section, click the Install/Uninstall Languages button. In the next window, select Install Display Languages.Click Launch Windows Update. In Windows Update, select Check for Updates.Let us know the results.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Ronnie Vernon MVP

Try again and see if they are back. i know, i know. i think it was the 64-bit system that had the issue. i went back to using a 32-bit system. now i am not having any issues, exept with this one piece of OEM software every so often... hopefully they will fix these issues by the release...

ok this was way wierd.I installed the hebrew language pack just to see what it would do.Once i set it up and logged out like it asked, when i logged back in (under administrator) besides everything being in hebrew, Windows 7 was backwards and upside down.It is like i took the monitor and turned it upside down.Thank goodness my husband can read hebrew and I could at least find the correct icon in control panel, or I would have never been able to figure out how to put Engllish back on.Once i did and relogged in everything was back to normal.Yes, hebrew is read from right to left, i expected the "words" to be correct but not have the taskbar startup icons to be on the lower left side instead of the right side and the "start button to be on the upper right side- but totally upside down. Why did it do this? is this a bug or what?robin
