Windows 7 lan issue
Hi, I have recently installed Windows 7 Professional and everything works fine, except for when i try to play LAN games, I cannot detect or connect to anyone else's game, yet people can connect to ones i host. I have tried many different games, with the
Firewall turned off, on different networks also.

what i would look at are:
firewall (firewall.cpl and secpol.mmc)-check inbound and outbound rules
network settings in Network and sharing centre (public or work can prevent you from connecting out)
router firewall

Firewall Disabled, still doesn't work when I use a router or not, have tried using a proper network with a router and using peet-to-peer and still nothing, so that isn't an issue. I also ususaly set networks to "Home" not public or work.

Hi,
You may also temporarily uninstall the antivirus program to test the issue.
Does it work?

Didn't have one installed at the time, so that isnt an issue.

Hi,
I assume that there are three computers, Computer A is your computer and others are Computer B and Computer C. I would like to confirm that can Computer
B and Computer C detect and connect to each other?
You may also try to enable NetBIOS on the TCP/IP to check the result.
1. Click "Start", input "NCPA.CPL" (without quotation marks) and press Enter.
2. Right click on the connection that you use for the local connection, and then click "Properties".
3. Click to select "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)", and then click "Properties".
4. Click "Advanced", on the "WINS" tab, click to select "Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP", and then click "OK" to save the setting.
In addition, you need to enable “Client for Microsoft Networks” and make sure the following services are started:
Workstation
Network Store Interface Service
Server
Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
Function Discovery Provider Host
Function Discovery Resource Publication
