Windows 7 is now not Genuine
Hello there all, My Microsoft Windows 7 Professional is now telling me it is not genuine. I had a problem with my MBR and since I couldn't boot into Windows to aquire my .iso image(completely legal, I get them free through my Uni/MSDN) I couldn't repair it. So I got a friends but it turns out that his was a Windows 7 Ultimate. Now Windows keeps telling me my copy isnt legit, but it completely is. Ive tried reentering my CD Key on the activation screen but obviously because I repaired with Ultimate, and mine is Home Professional it isnt having any of this. I went on to Microsoft Live Chat and they where less then helpful. Asking me for my CD key then telling me it isnt legit, which is a lie as ive used it when I first installed, and it comes from my MSDN. Does anyone please have an idea? Thank you Chris

I take it you didn't burn a Windows 7 Professional dvd from your iso file? Will they let you download it again? Check around and see if someone else downloaded the same version and burn a copy for yourself and install with your key.

The Win 7 that you have--is this a dvd or an iso file? Have you contacted your university? If you obtained the win 7 from them, then I'm sure they can provide you with the registration key for the dvd or iso as the case may be.
