Windows 7 is blocking incoming traffic - firewall is disabled
Hello, I've been struggling with this for the last week, searching everywhere on the internet and cannot get this working. I am connected to the internet via router. I have tried opening various ports (lets use 7777 as an example) with no avail. I have port-forwarding setup in my router correctly, I have used my machine in DMZ, and even went as far as to bypass the router. But checking online port scanners at different sites still show as port 7777 unreachable/timeout. I have enabled logging in my router, when port forwarding is off the log shows 7777 dropped, when active it shows 7777 accepted so my router settings are fine. I have windows firewall disabled, but as that was not working I had enabled it and tried forwarding the ports in the incoming traffic section. Still did not work. Finally, I enabled logging of incoming and outgoing traffic in windows firewall, and after running a port scan it wouldn't even show up in the firewall log. the traffic is getting dropped somewhere between my router and the windows firewall that is all I know it can get through the router but does not make it to the firewall. I have went as far as to reinstall windows but am having the same problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, Have you tested in Safe Mode with networking? Have you tried to open a port in Windows Firewall? Open a port in Windows Firewall Hope it helps. I have tried safe mode which did the same thing. I have tried opening ports, but as I mentioned in my original post, from looking at the windows firewall logs, it looks like the traffic isn't even hitting the firewall (mind you i have used multiple online port scanners to verify this). I can see pings to port 80 which is open written to the log file, but most other ports i've tested don't even get that far. There is something a layer above the firewall that is preventing any traffic from those ports to come through, and I have tested this on a fresh install. Isn't there any log files or event logs I can send someone to take a look at this???
