Windows 7 interface erratic behavior
I built a new machine and have been having a number of problems. Initially appearing to be problems with mouse and/or/keyboard and/or motherboard/cpu, all those possibilities have been eliminated and the only thing left is Windows 7. Here are my specs: OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit Original "New" machine: MSI 85-E63 M/B AMD Phenom 850 CPU Second "New" system ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 AMD Phenom II Black 955 8 gig known working RAM Seagate 1TB 7200 RPM drive: ST31000528A SATA LG Super-Multi DVD Keyboards: MS Natural PS/2 and USB connections MS 500 wired Logitech wired Mouse/Trackball Logitech TrackMan Wheel Logitech TrackMan Wireless Logitech USB mouse Logitech PS/2 mouse Security software: Panda Cloud ThreatFire MS Security Essentials I have tried with combinations of these 3 installed and running. Malwarebytes used for on demand scanning. Virus software in place before machine is physically connected t to local or wide area networks. Scans have been performed using multiple linux boot scanners from AVG, AVast, GData and a couple of others, nothing found. I have to believe that it is not viral related. The problems: After some period of time after any given boot, usually after the screen and or something else has fallen asleep and been woken up, there are two primary behaviors which occur: 1) Keyboard signals will be misinterpreted: the <SHIFT> <ANY KEY> will seemingly immediately delete whatever was typed instead of inserting a capital letter. Using the <CAPS LOCK> key works as expected, and some other key, I forget which, will cause insertion of the clipboard at a rate of about 15 times a second. 2)Meanwhile, the pointing device: Left mouse button will delete any objects clicked on Right mouse button no longer functions Scroll continues to work properly 3) Browser behavior: When the mouse is in FireFox, the screen will bounce up and down violently. This bouncing will stop when the mouse is clicked and held on the screen or title/menu bars. When the button is released, the bouncing is resumed until you click again or move out of the window. I am unable to bring up any menu items or such as the windows begins bouncing as soon as the button is released and keystroke commands are not recognized. In other browsers things are relatively normal, although it is tough to tell with the mouse. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

First try it in safe mode. if you have no problem in asfe mode then you have your answer. Second try your drivers for updates. You have the same problems on both motherboard types? Did you use the same RAM on both systems? or the same video card? Have you tried using less ram, and try also to see if you use less ram and less sticks when the system acts more normal. How did you install the OS, is it a clean installation from scratch, or you just changed the components and just kept the original OS install? If you just swapped the Hard Drive from one system to another and kept the OS installation then you created the problem. try a clean OS install. Grrrr. I totally forgot about this thread. Not that it helps anything at this point, but to answer the questions: Each install was a clean wipe and load of the OS. Installation from a thumb drive. All components were the same components, the only thing which changed was the motherboard/CPU. Sadly, at this point I cannot recall how I resolved the issue.Mike
