Windows 7 in domain can't browse other computers
Have a muti-server 2003 domain. Just put my first W7 workstation on it. Had no problem joining the domain. Have no problem pinging by name or mapping drives as long as I specify server\share-name. When the new computer was first booted, it was in workgroup and a few of my other workstations are in workgroup and I could see them in Explore. After joining the domain, I still can only browse and see original "workgroup" computers but none in the domain. Is there a way to "reset" so that a new search is done ?

The computer browser service uses LAN broadcasts to build the browse list. It takes a while for changes to take effect. I don't know of any way to speed it up. Eventually the machine should appear in the domain browse list and the workgroup will go away.Bill

Hi,Can you ping the target machine in domain? I suggest you restart the Windows 7 machine in Safe Mode with Networking and check whether it can browse any machine in domain. Thanks,Novak
