Windows 7 in Virtual Machine (VMware) cannot connect to Internet
I am running windows XP and installed the Windows 7 beta in a virtual machine (VMWare) and have started playing around with the settings available in Windows 7 but I am unable to connect to the internet. It says that there is no networking hardware detected even though I have used the virtual machine to bridge my networking hardware into the virtual machine. I even tried connecting my DSL Phoneline adapter directly into the virtual machine with no pass through my system which should work in theory except that in order to install and use that adapter I need to be connected to the internet. I have a Dell Latitude laptop with an Intel Core Duo processor and a "Dell Wireless 1490 Dual Band WLAN Mini-Card" as it says in my Network Connections. And yes, my computer was connected to the internet at the time I attempted this, but the virtual machine was not. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Close the Windows 7 VM and in VMware look at your Ethernet bridge configuration. If that isn't the issue, reinstall Windows 7 in a VM using the Server 2008 configuration information. This is the closest VM type to Windows 7 since the beat isn't in the list. Craig :{)}
