Windows 7 firewall - Inbound rules problem
Strange problem: my win7 firewall does not follow its own local inbound rules.... And allows all inbound connections when my firewall policy is: BlockInbound,BlockOutbound.
Outbound connections not specified by outbound rules are blocked as they should be, why inbound connections aren't? I'm also not being notified when any new app is using network (when i have "Notify me when Windows Firewall blocks a program" option checked
for my network profile).

Hi,
What is your rule type? Does it block all connections? What app you want to block and receive the notification?
I suggest referring to the following article to know more about the Windows Firewall configuration.

You have to firstly log in administrator account. You would firstly click the Start button and from that, go to Control Panel. In that, you need to select the System and Security and after that, select Windows Firewall. When you click that, a new window
would appear. In the left pane of the window, you have an option to turn on or off the firewall. There are some other settings also. If you need maximum security, you could check the box for the blocking all the incoming connections. You would also get notifications
when the firewall would block any new program. You need to check the box for that. Advanced options allow users to set default settings.get more help for

Hope this helps you.
Good Luck!

Suggested tutorials weren't very helpful - I'll try to describe my problem a bit better.
Let's say I have an application which behaviour is not covered by any of my incoming firewall rules. My firewall is enabled for my network profile (public), notifications are enabled, behaviour is default (block inbound, allow outbound). I also log succesful
and blocked connections to %systemroot%\LogFiles\Firewall\pfirewall.log.
When my app is using network I should see a notification - well, I don't. My app is not blocked. Also there's no info about this connection in pfirewall.log I think something is not right with windows filtering platform on my system... But for now I don't
have a clue what's wrong.
