Windows 7 explorer hangs
My windows explorer hangs up after an undetermined amount of time. The only fix seems to be a restart. I am running Norton Internet Security 2010. Have not tried to uninstall it yet. I have a QNAP 509 with 5 shares on it. After the hang up if I go to Libraries and attempt to access C:\, BD=ROM drive, or any of the shares the system will appear to open them but nothing ever shows up and the progress bar at the top (in the address bar) just takes forever. After that "Computer" doesn't even appear in the Libraries and I can not access anything on the machine. Everything else seems to run ok except my drive access ability.

Hi bluenadas, you can first try clean boot and see the result: 1. Click Start, type "MSCONFIG" (without the quotations) in the Search Bar and Press "Enter" to start the System Configuration Utility. Note: Please click Continue if the "User Account Control" window pops up. 2. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click "Disable All" (if it is not gray).3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK".4. Restart the computer and test the issue. Note: Clean Boot is a troubleshooting step. If some programs have been disabled, we can re-enable them later. If you see the System Configuration Utility, check the box of "Don't show this message" and then click "OK". Please test this issue in the Clean Boot environment. Sean Zhu - MSFT
