Windows 7 domain login Issues
We currently run a windows 2003 server that has over 300 windows xp machines running on a domain. They have no consistent problems. We are currently looking to upgrade to Windows 7 Enterprise x32. Our problem is that when ever a non-administrator user logins to the windows 7 laptop it shows the welcome screen then preparing the desktop finally it says its logging off.. I don't have the vaugest idea as why windows 7 doesn't stay logged in and as far as the server goes nothing seems wrong.

How does it work if you logon to the computers with a local account but not a domain account? Are you using roaming profile or local profile for domain users? Also, on one of the Windows 7 client computers please logon with an administrator account, then open Event Viewer. Please check the System log and try to find some clues.Arthur Xie - MSFT

when logging in with any administrator it works. So local admin has no problems. although in the event log right after it processes the group policy winLogin says "User Logoff Notification for Customer Experience Improvement Program" with no errors before or after the event. If you need any clarification please let me know.

I suspect that there is any third party service. The most possible reason is hardware related service. What are the model of the video adapters? Are the client computers the same model? You may log on with administrator account, and configure to boot in Clean Boot Mode. Then restart and log on with standard account and see if the issue still occurs. Perform a clean startup to determine whether background programs are interfering with your game or programArthur Xie - MSFT

By disabling the start up applications and services, it took windows less time to logout, I am unsure if this is some problem with the Group Policy of our server or the OU setup that we are currently using. Or if it is a incompatibility with the different versions of the user accounts. I was able to see in the log that windows was able to load the Group Policy and it then reports a system logoff with Notification for Customer Experience Improvement Program, which we hadn't even enabled in our initial system.

This time we noticed that immediately before windows logs off it says that the software protection service has entered the stop state, I am unsure if this helps you understand what is going on.
