Windows 7 domain admin rights not sufficient to install software
I'm a member of domain administrators, and a Win7 laptop will refuse to install software - it will only work if it is installed as the local administrator. I've also heard the domain admins are not able to change the security settings of folders on the C drive. What is the point of being a domain admin of a domain-attached Windows 7 machine?

Hi SRD75, If you want to install software on a Windows7 laptop, you will need the local administrator previledge on the machine. Hi Scorpio_Milo. You didn't really answer my question. If the machine is connected to the domain, why does the local admin have rights the domain admin doesn't? How does a domain admin automate rolling out software?

local admin is separated from the domain for good reason you need to create a domain admin account on each workstation you are managing. that should have been done with the sysprep or WAIK My MVP is for the Windows Desktop Experience, i.e. Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 IT Remote Assistance is available for a fee.
