Windows 7 does not get drive mapping from 2003 Server Login Script
Sorry if this has been asked, but I have not been able to find a solution to my problem. We have a 2003 Server Domain. Most of our workstations are XP systems. We do have a couple of Windows 7 PCs. When the login script runs on a XP machine, the script acts perfectly. I get allo f the drive mappings. When the login script runs on a Windows 7 machine, the script acts perfectly. The problem is that I do not get any of the drive mappings. There is a login log file that is created in the user's directory. There are no error messages. The script appears to run. I can run the script from the command line or under the run command and it runs perfectly and gives me all of the drive mappings. This is a cscript - VBS file. It is running via policy. Can some one point me in the right direction?TNX Will

This behavior can be caused by UAC. You may refer the following article. After you turn on User Account Control in Windows Vista, programs may be unable to access some network locations The article is also applied to Windows 7.Arthur Xie - MSFT

If this is NOT suggested from Microsoft, how do you resolve the login script issue? So it is a possible work around, but not a fix. You would think there is a better answer for logging into a network!

Hi, Generally mapping driver does not need high privilege. I suspect that when startup in the script the process stops at a process so that the driver mapping does not run. I suggest you create a thread in the following forum to check the contents in the script. The Official Scripting Guys Forum!
