Windows 7 does not connect automatically to ANY WIFI network despite choosing auto-connect. This happened suddenly. I suspect an auto-update
After reading through this thread, I sympathize with all you Windows 7 users who are not being acknowledged by MS with answers outside of a ROUTER ISSUE. My Windows 7 box ran GREAT, and still does, except for the fact that when I go to my usual WIFI locations (work/office/friends, etc) it WILL NOT CONNECT AUTOMATICALLY (and YES MS, the auto-connect is selected). This happened suddenly. My machine is set to auto-update MS when necessary. No machine specific firmware was updated ... EVER. My conclusion ... MS WINDOWS 7 has a problem and it occurred during a MS auto-update. MICROSOFT, what did you change in the NOS or network layer(s)? Sometime in June 2011. OS is 7/Home Premium/64 bit. While not a BIG deal, it is a hassle and it is a BUG. FIX IT ... ESCALATE THIS PLEASE.
