Windows 7 crashes when coming out of sleep/hibernate mode
i pretty much tried everything. system restore, updated as many drivers needed updating, scanned my computer. could it be a KB update problem? i was reading that some people had a problem with some kb updates. but i check to see the kb was in my pc matching the same that they were having problems with but not in my computer. hope i can get this issue fixed out, thanks in advance.

Unless you provide details about the crash (error number, parameters etc.) we cannot help you at all. If you have missed the blue screen, check Event Viewer and copy the crash information from the log to this forum. PS: The Question type would fit better this thread rather than Discussion.

That event means that there was a problem in creating the crash dump, but this is rather BSOD outcome, not its cause. For this go to the Advanced system settings / Advanced / Performance / Settings / Advanced / Change and make sure that its size is greater than the size of your RAM. If it is so currently, change the disk on which the page file is located (you might change that even when its size has not been greater than RAM). Don't forget to click Set, OK and restart your system. Go to the Advanced system settings / Advanced / Startup and Recovery / Settings / System failure and uncheck Automatically restart. Now you should have a chance to see the BSOD before restarting (which you have to do manually from now).

Start msconfig and choose Diagnostic startup, confirm, restart your computer and try to sleep - wake whether it still freezes. If not, try to go back to msconfig, select Selective startup, swith to Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services, click Disable all. You might also try to disable all startup items. Again, confirm, restart and check the issue. To revert everything back, just select Normal startup in msconfig, confirm and restart.
