Windows 7 cannot open the shared MS Access database if it's opened by another user
This is a weird one. On the clients, add the server that holds the database (e.g. \\192.168.42.42) to trusted sites in internet options. Remove the "https required" mark. Then set security level for trusted sites to low.

Also just want to make it clear, Windows 7 machine can still access the MS Access DB if nobody else opens it.

It's internet options in internet explorer. Just open IE, go to Extras -> Internet Options -> Security and follow the steps above.

We just upgraded our machines from Windows XP to Windows 7 and found this problem. We have a network drive carries a MS Access database (Pro 2010), the database were set as shared and we were always able to access the MS Access database simultaneously from our individual Windows XP machine. However, we cannot access the database from the new Windows 7 machines if one of us is using the database. We can still access it from the old Windows XP machine if one of us is using it. I have checked and the database we set to share for sure. I have no clue how to fix this problem. Please help.
