Windows 7 can see domain machines but not workgroup
Running windows 7 ultimate and have no problem seeing the domain machines in my network. However we have a group of about 15 machines that are kept off the domain and running as a workgroup. They are all windows xp machines. I want to be able to see them to work on the desktops remotely and other tasks that can be done remotely. Network discovery is on for domain and home/work. Not sure where i need to go from here

Left a reply on your first post http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itpronetworking/thread/41733300-970d-40c0-bd2e-bee579b69e73 If the workgroup machines are on the network (even though not on the domain) do they have DHCP issued IP's or statically assigned IP's? Either way, if DHCP issued, you could try pinging that machine name or just RDP to the IP. We like using UltraVNC for tasks like that.MCSE, MCSA, MCDST
