Windows 7 can not see Aiport Extreme network
I adjusted my friends Airport Extreme router (changed name, added security, added public network, updated bios) The security is set to WPA2 and B/G/N is enabled. All of the following see the 2 new networks names: Xbox 360, iPad, MacBook (OSX & Windows 7 booted separately) But my friends Windows 7 laptop can not see both networks. I brought the laptop to my home which also has an Airport Extreme. The laptop did see my network. Can not understand why his router in not being seen. Only thing I did not do is power cycle the router. Any Hints???? Thanks Steve

If you take your laptop to his router, does your latop sees that newtork? Try to upgrade the firmware on the Router and see if that helps On the laptop try to manually add the network and see if that works?

Yes, if you connect the laptop via ethernet cable the laptop works. As I said before I updated the firmware. Now I can not see wither the private or public wireless network. Thanks Steve

Hi, Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet forums. From your description, it sounds really wired. All Windows 7 can see your friends Airport Extreme router except your friend’s Windows 7. This indicates the router is set correctly. While your friend’s Windows 7 can see the network at your home which indicates the Windows 7 is configured correctly. You may try to connect the devices by entering the IP address in Windows Explorer. Please disable WPA2 and B/G/N from the security setting as a test.
