Windows 7 can't connect to internet for certain programs after updates or installations.
Hello, A few months ago, I downloaded an automatic update for my computer. After I did that, I could not connect to the internet. I did a system restore for it, and I was able to connect to explorer, but I noticed that after that, I was not able to connect to firefox, update any of my programs, or install new programs as I would receive a message that said "Connection error was not able to update/install" at this time. I recently decided to update my itunes because that seemed to be working, but after I did that, I can't log into the iTunes store as it says I have a connection failure. I can't use skype, install avast, or any other program except explorer. Recently I had to install microsoft office for a class, and the only way I was able to register it was to call over the phone as it wouldn't let me do it over the internet. I even tried a cmd and running a corrupt file check up, which I did have some corrupt files, but I was able to fix them. Still, the problem continues. Does anyone have any idea what is happening? Every time I try to troubleshoot my network connection, it can't find a problem, I can't find anyting unusual in my network settings. Please help, it's getting to the point where I almost can't even use my computer anymore. Thanks!

Hi, According to your description, when you encounter this issue, have you tried to disable the firewall or the anti-virus software temporarily for a test. I assume this issue may be caused by the anti-virus or the firewall can not recognize the new updated system files. Also, please post the result of ipconfig /all .Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
