Windows 7 can't connect to Exchange Server
Windows 7 RC1 64 Bit won't connect to my companies Exchange Server. Something is going on with the authentication between the two. When I first installed Windows 7 it seemed to work fine. However, later on it all the sudden stopped working with my companies Exchange Server. I'm still able to access OWA on other machines, but on my Windows 7 machine it just keeps prompting me for a password. I've tried both the Outlook thick client and OWA on IE 8. I've tried using different ways of identifying myself to the exchange server as suggested on other sites. I confirmed my domain credentials with our admin andused Domain\User authentication to no avail. Whats crazy is that I'm able to get into OWA through firefox. It's as if MSFT refuses to work with itself here. Does anybody have any recommendations or work arounds? It seems that this problem came up in earlier builds, but the issue was resolved by using the DOMAIN\USER as the user name, but this didn't work for me.Upset Customer

This is not an answer and not helpful at all. Moving a question and marking it answered only clogs up search results with useless hits. Please delete posts that you're not going to answer. People are looking for ANSWERS not lessons in message-board etiquette.

I found a fix on a website, awhile ago, but the fix I use weekly is:Go to Regedit, select the HKey_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Control > Lsa Inside the LSA key, right click on the right side window, Click New > DWORD (32-bit) Value, type the name EXACTLY LmCompatibilityLevel press enter, then edit this key and put the value as 1.you will need to restart the computer for this to take effect, but it has solve the authentication problem with many Windows 7 Machines (Laptops, towers) that I've worked on here. Hope that helped.

Glad to hear it, I use this a lot at work with Windows 7 machines, for some reason this wasn't added as a default key when windows was installed, glad to see it came to some use with someone else.

No problem! Glad to hear that this fix is being put to use. I do not take credit for this fix as I did not come up with it, but unfortunately I can not remember the site that I found it on, it was awhile back and I never wrote it down, was very useful to all the Windows 7 machines I built.
