Windows 7 can't access shared directory on 2000 server.
My server software is Windows 2000 Server. Is there a know problem with compatibility with Windows 7? My Windows 7 PC finds the server on the network, but when I try to access the server's share directory, it asks for a username and password. I am certain that I am giving it the correct username and password, but it will not accept them, it keeps asking again for the same thing. All my other 12 PC's can log on to the server with the same username and password I am using. They are running XP and Vista, no problems.

Than are plenty of posts dealing with this under the networking forum.Best guess is that it is asking for the win7 acount info.

Disable Password Protected sharing on Windows 7 computer: 1) Open Network and Sharing Center. 2) Click Change Advanced sharing settings. 3) Select Turn off password protected sharing under Turn off password protected sharing.
