Windows 7 blocking connections when firewall is off.
I am recieving tons and tons of 5157 failures in my Windows 7 security logs. These failures read as follows:
The Windows Filtering Platform has blocked a connection.
Application Information:
Process ID: 2036
Application Name: \device\harddiskvolume3\windows\system32\application.exe
Network Information:
Direction: Outbound
Source Address: x.x.x.x
Source Port: 37893
Destination Address: x.x.x.x
Destination Port: 37892
Protocol: 6
Filter Information:
Filter Run-Time ID: 0
Layer Name: Connect
Layer Run-Time ID: 48
The firewall is disabled via GPO and I have verified via the control panel and services mmc that it is. My question is... How is Windows 7 still blocking these connections and how do I get it to stop?
I have searched for hours and not found any answers that seem to apply. If I disable a local firewall all packets\connections should be allowed. No exceptions.
Thanks

Hi,
The following links for your reference.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/hardware/gg463267.aspx

The WEP is not a firewall, It is a new component released with Vista and still included in Windows 7.
So check the IPsec settings and all the things related to TCP/IP in your Group Policy Object.
Thanks.
