Hi, Which version of Windows 7 is installed on the machine, Windows 7 RC, Windows 7 RTM or full version? Does the issue occur after installing certain application or hardware? Here are some suggestions you can try: 1. Upgrade the BIOS version. 2. Temporarily disable all unnecessary hardware devices in Device Manager, such as Modem, sound card or external device. For detail steps, we can refer to the link below: Device Clean Boot Does the BIOS screen and Windows screen still hang? Please also boot in Safe Mode and check whether Windows screen hangs or not. Thanks, Novak

I'm going to go totally out a limb here, and say you've probably got a bad hard drive.Sometimes when BIOS hangs, it's because a bad device isn't responding or bouncing back signals (like a drive.) Bad hard drives can also cause a system to boot or run more slowly. Hopefully it's not, but run the WD Diagnostic program if you get a chance to confirm.Link: http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=614&sid=3&lang=en

Have you tried above suggestions? Does the screen hang in Safe Mode? It's highly recommended to perform above suggestions first.
