Windows 7 backup failure 0x81000015
I'm having the same problem on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit backing up to a network location as has been reported elsewhere. The backup was working before but has now always fails with error code 0x81000015. I don't have Stuffit, or Carbonite. As far as I can tell, zip suffix is still associated with Windows and not some 3rd party tool. I have cleared temp files. So none of the suggested resolutions described on other threads have worked for me. The backup has written many zip files to the network location prior to the point of failure. There is no problem with disk space on either the C: drive (more than 1Tb free) or on the network share to which backups are directed (more than 3Tb free). This seems like a severe Windows 7 defect to me. Any ideas when Microsoft are going to fix this defect, or if there is a workaround for this problem? Thanks, David.

for me STUFFIT 2010 was the problem. I changed the .ZIP files properties to remove them from STUFFIT and problem was solved. since I had the exact same problem on two WIN7 pro machines, one using a 64 bits version and the other a 32 bits version, I guessed it was not related to the computer space. It is like when the .ZIP file was created something was happening to block the end of the process.
