Windows 7 back up error code
While there are posts and solutions to this code already posted, none of them seem to apply to me. I do not have any "duplicate accounts". Before I start messing with the root directories, I want to make sure I'm doing what's right for my situation. The "postgres" refers to databases that are very important, so I didn't want to do anything until I know the RIGHT thing to do. It seems there are files that it cant find, thus the error code. here are the error codes: Backup encountered a problem while backing up file C:\Users\SLF\Contacts. Error:(The system cannot find the file specified. (0x80070002)) Backup encountered a problem while backing up file C:\Users\postgres\Contacts. Error:(The system cannot find the file specified. (0x80070002)) Backup encountered a problem while backing up file C:\Users\postgres\Searches. Error:(The system cannot find the file specified. (0x80070002)) Please, if you would be so kind, give me a detailed account of how to solve this problem. I can't not backup my computer. Also, if possible, a "solution" to solve it, not a "way around it". Thanks :^)

Hi, Thanks for the post! Did you check the Backup logs? <SystemDrive>\Windows\Logs\WindowsBackup, are there any related logs? Please run chkdsk /R on the target disk to check if it detects some bad sectors, then backup will ignore them. I seemed to get around the problem, I just went in and added the folders that it couldn't find. They were empty folders, but they were there. It seemed to work and the back up completed successfully. Although, by doing it this way, will I be causing myself more problems in the long run? Thanks :^)
