Hi, Could you please list the updates which are applied automatically before the issue occurs? Firstly, please boot the system to clean boot and see how it works: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 If you like, please also try the following to check the issue: Note: Please setup a restore point before performing the following steps. 1. Restart the system to a clean boot environment: 2. Install the update again. 3. Restart again to the clean-boot environment. Then check RDP again. How it works now? 4. If everything works, please restore the previously disabled startup items and check if the problem occurs. If not, the culprit of the previous problem is the previous installation is incorrect. If yes, the culprit should be one of these disabled startup items. We can use MSCONFIG again to identify it. Hope this helps. Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)? What third-party firewall (if any)? Has a(another) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on the computer (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought it)?~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) ~ MS MVP (IE, Mail, Security, Windows & Update Services) since 2002 ~ Disclaimer: MS MVPs neither represent nor work for Microsoft

The free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) does not provide any realtime protection. What is the full name of your McAfee application (e.g., McAfee Security Center; McAfee VirusScan Plus; McAfee Internet Security; McAfee Total Protection) and is your subscription current? Did a McAfee (or Noton) application come preinstalled on your computer when you bought it)? Is it the same computer as in this this thread of yours from from early December 2009? => Computer Freezes ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) ~ MS MVP (IE, Mail, Security, Windows & Update Services) since 2002 ~ Disclaimer: MS MVPs neither represent nor work for Microsoft

Hi, Thank you for your update. Since it works in Safe Mode with networking, I think this issue is related to some software conflicts, please try the following to eliminate them: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT
