Windows 7 and server 2003 and ping
I am having a problem connecting to my work from home. I am using outllok 2007 and exchange 2003 at work and have a laptop running windows 7 64 bit ultimate. . I use RPC over HTTP to connect my outlook. Windows won't connect. Upon further inspection of the problem I attempted to ping using DNS names from my home. The correct IP address was found with the DNS name. The results returned "timed out" I then unchecked IPv6 in Network Connections and now when I ping I get the message "destination net unreachable". I ran tracert and all connections came back except for wpsi which stated "destiantion net unreachable". My desktop at home is configured with Vista 64 Ultimate and has no problems pinging or connecting to any of my servers. Furthermore, my OWA and IIS websites can be accessed through IE on the Windows 7 laptop. Are there any suggestions for connecting? When I use the wireless network inside my office with the laptop it also connects with no problem.Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

Hi, Based on my research, I would like to suggest the following to check the issue: 1. Please refer to the following to check the RPC over HTTP related settings: Troubleshooting RPC over HTTPS Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information. 2. Disable SNP on the Windows 2003 sever: Windows 2003 Scalable Networking pack and its possible effects on Exchange In addition, I would like to share the following with you: Troubleshooting RPC over HTTP Communications To check the network related issue, you can also move the Windows 7 computer to another network and see how it works. Hope this helps. Thanks.Nicholas Li - MSFT
