Windows 7 and multiple versions of Access
My new computer has Win 7 and when I loaded Access 2003 on, everything works fine, but when I put 2007 and 2010 on, none of my code works under 2003. I had 5 versions (2000 thru 2010) on my XP machine with no problems so I am assuming that it is Windows 7. When I open a db that was created in 2003, in 2003 on the Win 7 machine that also has 2007 and 2010 on it, I get the message "The expression On Current you entered as the event property setting produced the following error: Object or class does not support the set of events." The On Current code in the form is DoCmd.Maximize. From that point forward, everything I try to do brings up a message like this. If I open the same db on a different machine (all the client machines are XP), it works fine. And when I only have 2003 on this machine, it works fine. It happens when I install 2007 and 2010. I do not have the problem with Excel 2003, even running a macro. I have reinstalled everything 3 times, always starting with 2003, then 2007 then 2010. Unfortunately working with just 1 version is not an option, and working with different machines really isn't either. I have clients on all versions, although all of them are using mdb files and my current large client has to run the multiple versions on XP. I need the ability to send pdf's from the program which I need 10 for and I need to add forms to toolbars from 03 (there are a lot more things but those are the ones that are always at the forefront.) In addition, if I create certain things in 2010 like a button that opens a report in print preview, the 2003 machines send it right to the printer or gives me an error message! There is new code for it in 2010 and 2003 doesn't recognize it and until it happens, I just don't realize I forgot to catch it because i am going back and forth with them all. Any help in solving this would be greatly appreciated. Terri

Why should it be posted on the Office forum when all three work perfectly together on XP and only have the problem on Windows 7?

Hi Terri, Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet forums. The Access and Office library references are adapted to the version of Access you open, Under Windows Vista and Windows 7, programs do not have the privilege to alter the registry. You can try to modify the registry to let the Access run with full permissions: For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. 1. Input regedit in search bar. 2. Navigate to the key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{4AFFC9A0-5F99-101B-AF4E-00AA003F0F07}\9.0 3. Right-click, choose permissions 4. Edit the permissions of the user group, check the Full Control. If the issue persists, please also ask this question in Office Forum since it’s more related to the office issue. Best Regards, Miya Yao TechNet Subscriber Support in forum.
