Windows 7 and mapping drive script via GPO work if disable UAC?
Why mapping drive script via GPO will work if disable UAC in Windows 7 that grant privilege local adminsitrative rights? In case Windows 7 that do not grant privilege local adminsitrative rights (grant domain users as member of local admin group), it does not require to disable UAC.

Hi W.A. _ Thanks for posting in TechNet forum. With the UAC, running as a local administrator, you have two tokens: a "normal" user token and the elevated administrator token. Mapping a drive should be run in elevated mode, however, the explorer and cmd are run in "normal" mode. You cannot access mapped drives from normal token in elevated token. (See Florian's reply in this thread: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/winserverGP/thread/ccea02b7-341f-4867-913d-4fa934430f9a) The group policy scripts can fail due to the UAC. Refer to: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc766208(WS.10).aspx (The situation is the same in Windows 7) Please follow the solution here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/937624/en-us, it's also appliled for Windows 7.
