Windows 7 and XP networking problem
I have six machines on a home network, all running XP and all with the same user and password. I upgraded one of the machines to Windows 7 with a fresh install again using the same user and password. At first everybody could see everyone else. At some point the Windows 7 machine could only see itself while all of the XP machines were able the see it and freely access files. I have configured home work and public according to the forums with network discovery on, file and print sharing on, Sharing for everybody on, password protected sharing off and user accounts and passwords to access accounts.I turned of both firewalls. The Windows 7 machine still will not recognize the XP machines.

Hi,Have you joined (or created)a HomeGroup? Disable it to see the result.Meanwhile, go to Control Panel --- Network and Sharing Center --- Advanced sharing settings --- Home or Work, change the "HomeGroup connections" to "Use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers" to test.If issue still exists, share a folder on one of your Windows XP computers, make sure others can access the folder. Then write down its ip address, go to Windows 7 computer, try to access it with \\ipaddress and let me know the result. If there is any error occurs, please help capture a screenshot. Here are the steps to upload a picture.
