Windows 7 and UAC
I've just setup 5 Windows 7 PC's in my domain and I notice under normal user mode, the executable files I have in my login script are prompting me (Actually its Windows 7 UAC prompting me) asking me if it is safe for me to run the EXE. Is there a way to configure UAC to all SAFE EXE's? and if so how or what is the process to tell the OS the EXE that is being run is safe and do not prompt, just execute. I know all my problems go away if I disable UAC, but really I think in the long run it will create more... Thanks,

This depends from what the exe file tries to accomplish. Would this happen also, if you put the exe file to a local directory on each PC? In this case you might have to create a manifest, which tells Windows 7 to run the file asInvoker. But I don't think it has to do with UAC in this case. If you execute the file from a network location, that server hosting the files should be at least associated to Local Intranet zone on the client PCs user profile. Best greetings from Germany Olaf

Sue the task scheduler to run the applications without UAC prompt: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=135472"A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/
