Windows 7 and Server 2008 AD dependencies
Is Server 2003 AD sufficient to control all Windows 7 policies (Local and Global) Is there any reasons why AD 2008 needs to be there? Also any ideas / best practice to put any local policy on image itself. Thanks

Hi, As far as I know, there are many enhancements and changes in Windows Server 2008 from Windows Server 2003. The Group Policy settings in Windows 7 are added. You can download the “WindowsServer2003SP2GroupPolicySettings” and the “WindowsServer2008R2andWindows7GroupPolicySettings” from the following link to compare: Group Policy Settings Reference for Windows and Windows Server Of course, you can deploy Group Policy on image by either customizing the reference computer, then capturing the image or by writing scripts. You can refer to: Implementing Default User Settings by Using Scripts or Group Policy More reference: What’s New in Group Policy for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Best Regards Dale
